Opuntia zebrina f. reticulata — Cobra Cactus — Small Single Pad

Opuntia zebrina f. reticulata, commonly known as the Cobra Cactus or Reticulated Prickly Pear, is a fascinating cultivar prized for the intricate web-like pattern etched across the surface of each pad — a network of fine green veining over a paler background that looks almost reptilian, hence the "cobra" nickname. Opuntia zebrina itself traces back to the Caribbean and coastal regions of the southeastern United States and Mexico, and like its parent species it loves heat, sun, and well-drained soil. What sets this cultivar apart is its growth habit: rather than building a wide branching shrub, it tends to stack pad upon pad in a winding, serpentine fashion, slithering upward and sideways like a snake working its way through the desert. A standout conversation piece for any collection.

This listing is for a single pad. The cut should be calloused and fully healed within a week of arrival, ready to root in dry, well-draining soil.
