Echinocactus grusonii – Golden Barrel Cactus Seeds
Echinocactus grusonii, the golden barrel, is a ribbed globe covered in golden-yellow spines that grows to 3 feet across over decades. Nearly gone from its tiny native range in central Mexico, it's now one of the most widely grown cacti on Earth — all from seed. Yellow flowers ring the woolly crown on mature plants.
Germination
Very easy. Germination in 7–14 days at 75–85°F; the gold spines come in during the first year.
What you'll receive
Fresh seed from our own parent plants, in the pack size you choose, with germination instructions included. Photos show parent plants or seedlings for reference.
Care
